Our woman crush for today is Nigerian singer Aituaje Aina Vivian Ebele Iruobe popularly knows as Waje (Words Ain’t Just Enough)
The singer, songwriter whose vocal range covers three octaves sings Pop, RNB, Hip Hop. Soul, Hip Hop Soul, Blues and rock. Waje made her first music breakthrough in 2008, when she featured in the P-Square hit track titled “Do Me.” After which she participated in Advanced Warning (a reality TV show which featured artists that are on the verge of a breakthrough). The reality show was organised by MTV Base South Africa and Zain Nigeria, where she came out as the first runner up.
Eversince then, the mother of one has shared the stage with various international artists such as Wyclef Jean Kerry Hilson and many others. She has also worked with a lot of Nigerians artists who had hit singles, including “One Naira” with M.I, “Do Me” with P-Square, Dencia on “True Love”, “Left For Good” with Patorankin and many more. Waje has a list of songs that have received a number of award nominations and winnings.
From singing, Waje has also been able to prove her worth in acting when she made her acting debut in 2014 starring in a movie titled “The Tunnel”, acting along side Femi Jacobs, Patrick Doyle, Nse Ikpe-Etim and others. She has also starred Funke Akindele’s Comedy TVseries Jenifa’s Diary.
With am amazing sense of style and elegance, Waje has over 20 tracks to her credits, she is currently a judge on Nigerian version of the internationally acclaimed reality singing competition “The Voice Nigeria”, alongside Tuface, Patorakin and Timi Dakolo.
